If you are making shirts out of bamboo, isn’t that taking the food from the pandas?
No.  The species of bamboo used to produce the fiber for our shirts is a species that neither the Red Panda nor Giant Panda eats. Bamboo grows very quickly and bamboo products are sustainable. Also Bamboo does not require any pesticides, which are harmful for the environment, to grow. Red Pandas and Giant Pandas are suffering from habitat loss, habitat fragmentation and poaching, not lack of bamboo.

Look at that cute raccoon/fox shirt. (Okay so that is a statement not a question.)
It is not fox. It is not a raccoon. It’s a Red Panda! They are adorable bamboo eating mammals from southern Asia. For more information on Red Pandas visit the Red Panda Network.

How does adopting an animal help to protect them?
With most organizations when you adopt an animal you are essentially just donating money to that organization in exchange for some pictures and stories about a specific animal. Depending on the organization that money can go towards habitat conservation, research, education or rehabilitated animals. To learn more specifically visit the website of the animal you are interested in adopting. For more information on adoptions affiliated with Daughter Earth visit our adoption page.

I love (fill in species here), what can I do to help them?
There are many great organizations out there working to protect our wildlife. Do some internet research and see what organizations are working to protect your favorite animal. Most organizations will have a “how to help” section. Usually the best ways to help are to educate yourself and pass that knowledge to others. You can also donate money, spread awareness or adopt animals. Sometimes, you can even volunteer to help save an animal (this usually does not involve hands on contact with animals). Here is a list of some of the great organizations we are working with.
